Route

We start the tour in Paris in mid March, and plan to finish in Hong Kong a little before Christmas. The trip will take 9 months to complete with an average distance of 60 miles/day (excluding rest days for exploring and lounging).

Setting off in Paris, we follow the Loire valley bike trail. From there, we go up to Munich, before dipping south and passing through the alps on our way to Venice. From there, we’ll take a ferry across the Adriatic Sea and then double back to the Eurovelo 6 after struggling to cross the Alps. We then enter the Balkans before eventually reaching Turkey.

Passing through Istanbul, we’ll journey across Turkey to Georgia and Azerbaijan. We’ll take our second ferry across the Caspian Sea and make our way though Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Finally, we’ll enter west China and begin to head to Hong Kong. If West China proves too difficult to pass through, we’ll take a train and free up time for Thailand and Laos before swinging back up to Hong Kong.
